This month LinkedIn is testing the beta feature Audio Events. The new feature makes it possible to host or participate in live audio conversations around certain themes. Something we already know from (among others) Clubhouse. In this article I will tell you about LinkedIn’s plans for Audio Events.

If you look at the developments around live audio on social media, the introduction of LinkedIn Audio Events is not exactly  country email list a surprise. And they are certainly not original. Other platforms preceded LinkedIn in the competition with Clubhouse and launched similar functions or apps last year. Think of Twitter Spaces, Facebook Live Audio Rooms and Spotify Greenroom . LinkedIn could not really stay behind.

What are LinkedIn Audio Events?

Audio Events is an audio-only extension of LinkedIn Live Events, where you can have interactive live audio conversations within the platform. where people normally met at events on location  Both on desktop and on the mobile app.

Just like with Clubhouse, as a listener you can raise your hand to join the discussion. You can also respond to the conversation with likes. Furthermore, you can see who  search engine optimization mails else is present, follow them, invite them as a connection and send them messages. In this way, you can continue the contact after the event.

The LinkedIn Audio Events environment also shows many similarities with other live audio features, but with a LinkedIn twist.

Good to know: For now, LinkedIn is offering the feature for free and there are no plans to enable ticket sales for the audio sessions. Unlike Clubhouse, TechCrunch reports , which is exploring the possibilities for creators to earn money from their contributions.

Why this new feature?
With Audio Events, LinkedIn is also jumping on the live audio train that has been thundering through social media land since the Clubhouse hype . And they have a good reason for that.

In recent years, the use of LinkedIn Live Events has grown enormously. In 2021, for example, a whopping 150% more virtual live events were organized and the number of visitors to those events increased by 231%.
